Notsure yet if im going to race the Stock Honda or 250 National for my first meeting ...
Few quick questions:
Is this a AASA meeting ?
Do i need a NSW Club membership or are QLD Club members welcome ?
How much fuel would you typically consume per day ? I was going to attend the practice day prior aswell.
Can anyone recommend a decent place to stay for the weekend close to the track ?
Cheers !
Ant

Best Western at Goulburn (02) 4822 5445. Trappers Inn. is where most of the webmaster guys stay. its about 10km from the track. Dont bother renting a garage just use the carports with the rest of the guys.
Lets plan to get a stake for dinner and talk shit. Ill have Tim (my son, driving my Intrepid, TM K9 Long track) John (driving my TM K9 on a MS kart) and Justin Ruggier (driving my Top Kart with 07 CR125. Justin is at the pointy end of the KZ2 field) We all like to eat stake and talk shit!
Note: SATURDAY 29th IS BOOKED FOR webmasterS PRACTICE
Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
Ant if your driving down on friday you are welcome to stay at my place and have a couple of beers at Cougarville sailing club (Cronulla) and then drive in convoy to the track on Sat morning with me and Stewy or stay on Sunday night on your way home to Qld. My place is 2 hours from the track at Cronulla.

I have a 42ft Mustang sports top with the upgraded Volvo pentas 850hp. Purchased it off Dick Johnson the last time he was going broke..
My parents have a 60ft Genisis, made in NZ. Basically same as a Sunseeker Manhattan.

Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
Apart from the more obvious mandatory rules does everyone really have the following ?
250ml min water overflow ?
Lockwire/Pinning Radiator Cap ?
Sump Plug lock wired ?
On/Off Master Ignition switch ?
Just checking how policed this is before i add more 'to do' jobs on my list.
See you all on the weekend ... :)
Cheers,
Ant

Stewy will complete lock wiring on the whole kart on friday
Instead of typing this dribble Paul, you could have lockwired his kart in lesser time....Geez 3 calipers and the radiator cap. I've already done his sump plug and oil filler cap. ::)

Feno,
Is this what happens when you wear low slung scoops without a belt?
Image deleted, sorry Sam.
Actually, that was in the USA last year at Miller Motorsports in Stock/Honda.
The competition is so close, we were contaiminating the fuel tank in this kart for the Sunday race after it won the Saturday's race.
For the few on this forum who know Ted, gee the nights at the tracks are more fun than the actual day's racing. ;D
Ted by Day.

Are you going to wear a G-String under your pants this time?
Make sure there are no skid marks in there and watch out you don't bend over in front of Feno, his got his super dooper camera ready to capture the moment. ;)

Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
Well done to Miss Pitstop on a great day. Sammy also revealed his latest weapon for the "Nationals". It will take some beating.
Yepp, I revealed that Craig Taylor will be my Chief Push Starter and Hug Buddy.
On Saturday I saw Craig resolve a tuning issue on a Rotax Max for a new dude to perfect effect.
Last time Craig was in charge of SZR, I got pole and 4 out of 4 at Phillip Island in the CR250.
This time, again in charge of SZR, I got pole and 4 out of 4 at Wakefield Park. Craig "Cookster" Taylor is proving to be "The Man" to have on your team regardless what class of webmaster you run. My record is perfect and unblemished with the Cookster.
......and if you want to get people out of your garage he is simply the best for security, just let him open his flubber valve and he will clear the garage with a shot of tear gas.
Jas... mate......, mate you lost yourself "The Man" to have on your side. ;D
Ohhh.... and well done Miss Pitstop. You done really well in the Stock Honda, improving all the time. See, I told you that you can do it.....just shut up and listen to me. :-*
Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
I had an awesome time yesterday even in the heat :P. It was only my second race (and the first without any rain/zero visability) and I managed to take 2 seconds off my qualifying time in the races and over 5 seconds from my practice times. That's a big improvement for me and now I am completely hooked on webmastering ;D.
Thanks to everyone for their encoruagement and assistance - Ant/ABR for pushing me, Owen and Dalton for giving me suggestions to improve my racing, Stewie for his tips even though it was his first outing in his kart, and of course Sam who prepared the kart and gave me lots of coaching, time and knowledge and is very patient with me - yes it's true :D. Oh and Pil for honouring his bet with Sam and buying our Saturday night dinner!
The Stock Honda is fantastic, even for a complete novice like me. It did 4 practice sessions on Saturday and on Sunday it completed qualifying and every race - and it was faultless!! All I had to do after each session was lube the chain, add fuel, do tyre pressures and check over the kart and that's it - which is great as I get to compete but don't bother Sam while he's preparing his kart at the track.
So if you're thinking about getting into Stock Honda I say go for it!!
Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
Hope to see you down here sometime.

Hope to see you down here sometime.

Rolf,
I might treat her down at Winton sometime soon. ;)
Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
Well done tracey
Would be good to see a few more women out there having a go in the karts instead of just hanging out in the pits.
Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
Pitty i didnt get more track time in the 250 but still had a great weekend all the same, apart from having the flu !
Well done to Stewy and Trace in the Stock Honda's, i think its proven now just how simple and bulletproof these little karts are and also to Vickers who showcased that 1.06's are possible with this combination ...
Also thanks to Pil for the hospitality on Friday night.
See you all at Eastern Creek ;D
Ill bring some 'Onion Rings' this time ;D

Hey Ant,
Get that Stock Honda of yours rocking mate because I can tell you it's possible to do 1:05's around Wakefield with all CIK sprint body work.
Before it started raining and before I did a million 360's in front of PIL on the Stock Honda's maiden race meeting!
http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?24/04/2010.WAKE.Q1
I know next time out, Mark Vickers will show you 1:05's, it was just too hot last Sunday!
Re: Wakefield 30th Jan
so I put together a what little video I took on Sunday, crank up the volume! ;D
Im pretty crap with a camcorder, when I wasn't dropping it I was shakin like Michael J fox!
