Just heard that Eastern Creek has put laws in place that Superkarts of all divisions must wear leathers now to race.
Bit left of field, any reason behind it? havent heard of a Rotax/125GB person having an incident in a codura suit that caused issue.

ps Great how Cams went through the body they created, NSA, to discuss reasons why they backed the ARDC.
Doesnt effect me as i have both leathers and cordura but willing to bet no research was done on why leathers and if they in deed offer better protection for a Rotax or 125GB.

Re: Leathers now Mandatory in NSW?
If it's true I'd say Warrens recent incident would have a been a trigger for it, and even if no research was done it's a pretty straightforward argument. I know a number of people now wear leathers because of it, including myself.

Re: Leathers now Mandatory in NSW?
Should the powers to be want to roll this out nationwide, it won't have my vote , however I can't argue against that it will provide a higher level of protection, and for that reason, I can see it going through if it was put up for vote. All in all, if it needs to go into the rule book, so be it, but for goodness sake, give us poorer blokes some time to get a set of leathers as they are not cheap.

Unless the sport ( NSA ) can prove that injuries to Warren by way of friction can be substantiated.
