Righto, another lesson that has cost. But not that much this time.
Spent the last quarter of the season without RPM so no shift lights. Turns out the idiot behind the wheel likes to turn the engine over with the spark plug out and not connected.
It has ruined my M3 Gold! Fixed now thanks to Ron @ AIM, and only $175.
So, to the new guys don't do it! Instead, connect the plug back to the lead and rest it against the engine if you need to turn over the engine with the plug out. But I'm probably the only idiot?
Woodgate snapped me doing it sometime ago and has corrected the error of my ways, however the damage had already been done.

Re: Always have the spark plug connected
Thanks for sharing your experience :)- sometimes we forget that not all the drivers come from a mechanical background and what is plain to some is not to others. :o
Maybe, you have saved someone else doing the same thing.
This is just what Sam and the other boys has been doing and we appreciate it. :)
Regards
Allan.

There is an easier way; take off the fuel tank breather hose at the catch bottle and blow into it with a steady breath while pinch off the return fuel line to the tank. Once you pressurize the fuel tank, you only need to hold the pressure and it will do the rest for you - takes about 20 seconds to fill the bowl - you don't have to turn the motor over at all.
