2A or 2B
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
2A, 2B or 2C (however a really huge 2A event is fine and less stressful for 1B organisers doing it once only per year)
F**k, that wasn't hard at all.

Cheers
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
2A if possible but 2B if not
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
2A or 2B
I agree with Jason it needs to be spread around the country. Different state every time with all states taking a turn.

Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
2A or B
But my vote is worthless, we might not be competing next year at national level, running another category.

Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
A bit of news brought to me has said that Shannon's Nationals next year is $30,000 per category/per round.
So assuming that, with 30 karts on the grid it will cost $1000 per round/per racer just to make SKA break even, not including the hidden expenses and to be treated like garbage at the event. That's simply not going to happen so it's time now to gather the family interested in running an 'all classes at same event' Superkart affair like the Victorian Superkart Club did at the Phillip Island in September and start to move our sport forward again.
We have done this 'SKA' model for the last 5 years or so and it simply has not worked to benefit the category or clubs we are all passionate about.
For those that get on here and don't post cause they think this is a SKA bashing, time to wake up and view reality. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong that the Competitor/Entrant "Sam Zavaglia" has supported the SKA by way entry fees more than any other competitor out there. In case you don't know, I enter at least 2-3 karts that are mine at each SKA event, so there is proof I do my best to support the sport without prejudice of who runs it.
Let's move forward and do our own thing, this CAMS/Shannon's/SKA thing is not working for us. CAMS can see it our way if they wish when they see that SKA have nothing, either way we need to do what's best for us.
Rod, you have helpers in NSW when your ready to begin for 2013.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
I must say that I agree - especially with the idea of getting all classes back together again. We need to get off our butts though as 2013 is not many sleeps away.
The Victorian NGB meeting this year would appear to be the one to get organised - but the Victorian club needs to make that call.
Jason, I am sure that the state rotation system would be the go - its only fair.
We could rustle up SA club members to pitch in and help... :)
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
This way, it doesn't matter which state/track has the best facilities or best chance of profit, all clubs benefit equally based on their members entering regardless of which club actually hosts the event.
Or a separate "Nationals" account is made that is used to promote the year after event where the accounts, profits/losses are transparent and visible to all clubs so members can make their own assessments/feedback for the next event based on previous success/loss.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
1: Where are you going to get your permit?
2: To have an Australian CAMS Championship you must have at least two rounds.
footnote:
The VSKC will only consider running an Australian Championship or nationals if it gets asked to by the AMRC.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Little stumbling block gent's.
1: Where are you going to get your permit?
2: To have an Australian CAMS Championship you must have at least two rounds.
footnote:
The VSKC will only consider running an Australian Championship or nationals if it gets asked to by the AMRC.

Rolf,
We do our own thing, many people have stated they no longer care about CAMS Australian Champion status for 250 twins only. It's a wank, they can't even update the book properly even after I gave them the updates twice. So there again, if they can't update their records, what's the point of CAMS recognising it? It's not like CAMS give you a Formula Ford drive in some series elsewhere for winning.
We know who our Champions are and we know how to document our own champions. ;)
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Personally I dont give 2 hoots about an official ' CAMS national status ' on the event. All I want is a gathering of karts where we all agree that the best in the land will be present and I get a chance to race them.
We will all know who won - as we are the only ones that appear to care...
...so lets do it !
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Im surprised you said that..... all the permit thing and at least 2 rounds - it has been said many a time Cams really are not interested we need to make sure all the members know what Race meeting or meetings are for the big one and then show up. I think if Adelaide had one of the rounds one year we might do it with Superkart grand prix which is at the end of the year when the last round of the title should be. So what if we get 40 plus gearboxes for the gp and 40 rotaxs Cams just think its the GP. Lets face it as it has been said only the people in the sport know who Won and we would be better of spending money on prizes for the top few.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
There is an agreement between the clubs, AMRC & SKA on who holds the rights to the Australian Superkart Championship.
The VSKC is more than happy to support and or run other events.
;D
Oh, and if your there this weekend (GP) I'll drop by for a chat.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
I will be there c u then.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
There is an agreement between the clubs, AMRC & SKA on who holds the rights to the Australian Superkart Championship.
IF that agreement becomes null and void I will discuss the implications and possible solutions with my exec, the AMRC and the broader superkart community.
Till then...............the agreement stands.
And ten people are approx 1/3 of the entry at a Championship. Many more visit this site and choose not to comment.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
No need to even have the SKA. The club whose turn it is, runs the Nationals in that year and if needed, asks for help from the other clubs. It was that way before the SKA and it worked very well. I might be wrong but I think that it was only because one of the clubs was having a financial problem that caused that to change for one of those years - Qld if I remember correctly?
I agree with Dean’s comment – too much Governance in place for what is essentially an enthusiast sport - time to get back to what worked well for so long.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
We can call it what ever we want to, it could be the Australian Superkart Series but the last time I checked CAMS did not own the name Australian Superkart Championship.
Glad someone is thinking as I am, the worst case scenario is the winner's names don't go into the CAMS book, however the benefits far out weight it. How many people within Superkarting knew that the gearbox names were not updated since 2008 and non-gearbox is not there. So what is the point from CAMS under Australian "Champion" status.
Time to save our sport and let the clubs run it and profit, not the Shannon's Series or other promoters. I don't mean to harp on the scenario but 2011 and 2012 NGB Nationals is a perfect example of where EVERY competitor present loved it. Yes, it can be done and at other tracks.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
ALWAYS run their own meeting and then invite other classes to race with us on the day - making it cheaper.
Problem solved Nat 22 ;D ...... now lets make a decision and get on with it ;)
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Heard from a reliable sauce last night that "another group"/promoter is or has approached the controlling body to take over the Championship.........................
Seems it's not just some of the entrants that aren't happy.
It will be very interesting to watch the outcome on that one.
;)
And before you all start, it's not a Club.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
....wont they ??? ;)
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Well its obvious they have buckleys - as they will get the same answer as the clubs did....
....wont they ??? ;)
At the end of the day, it needs support from the competitors regardless who runs what ;)
From our own 2 min survey, coupled with feedback elsewhere it shows what most want......profits back to the club, all classes running at the same event, cost effective fees and not on the scrap heap.
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
Will we ever find out the outcome of the SKA survey?
Otherwise here lately it's ZZZZzzzzzzz
Re: 2 MIN SURVEY
I wonder, and live in some sort of delusional hope.

Yep delusional hope it is
