After kicking poor young Tracey out of her kart last Wakefield.......again.....(I feel so bad about that but worth rubbing it into Degan), I've decided to purchase a complete BRAND NEW Stock Honda engine package from the USA for myself. Payment is done........no turning back now.
I will post photo's of the new kart build as I get the engine and start assembling the kart.
The key is to get as many Stock Honda's down to Victorian Superkart Club at Winton on May 13, 2012.

We give them their own race.
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
Second the event was offered to them.
Third we need to confirm the licence requirement
Four the committee decides the format of the race events.
That does not mean we won't, nor does it mean we will.
But the committee will decide
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
Infact whichever group WE choose from to run with, still requires the acceptance of the STOCK HONDA DRIVERS that will be attending. Maybe we don't want to bash wheels with KZ2 sprint drivers, maybe we do.
I was asked by a leading KZ2 driver if the Stock Honda group would like to join in their May races at Winton with a 10kg weight break for Stock Honda. I think it's a good idea but it's not my decesion from 2 levels, VIC Superkart club and the Stock Honda Drivers themselves.
Either way, we are looking forward to putting as many Stock Honda's on at Winton, which ever race we go into .....so chill out.....cause it might be pretty cold at Winton in the month of May. ;)
BTW......come April, I count 8x Stock Honda Superkarts built......growing quite nicely ;)
Here is the final Stock Honda Superkart rules after 2 years of learning from the first kart in Australia.
The only pending change could be an optional "Superkart Nosecone" yet to be decided on both style or introduction. This optional nosecone is a lot more complicated than first thought. There are very valid good and bad points from both sides for this controlled class so this is the only thing pending.

Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
It is bordering on dishonest to promote Stock Honda as a class - it is clearly not. And to have comments like 'its a championship winning kart" come up about one is again not too far on the wrong side of the line.
Ian,
It is recognized as a Stock Honda class by NSWSKC and scored separately with it's own yearly club championship if we so wish. We didn't do that in 2011 as there was only 4 last year.
I have never said "Championship Winning Kart" with reference to Stock Honda.
I did sponsor trophies to the tune of $600 at both Australian Superkart Championship rounds and made it very clear that this is a Stock Honda "Encouragement Award", both in print and presentation. I did this to PUT BACK INTO THE SPORT that I enjoy, there is no money making in it for me, just enjoyment to see an opening for the low budgeted and techinally challenged individual who would like to have a "red hot" go in a gearbox kart on long tracks.
OK then Sam.......... since you now have more numbers nationally than the 250 National class, and karts and engines obviously readily available, and a set of rules that after 2 years of tinkering appear complete - what's stopping you nominating this as a class to the NSA/CAMS ??
I have held my tongue on this and watched as the idea has been promoted, but in all honesty if you cannot take the last step and put this up as a class to CAMS then are you being totally above board ??
Ian,
I would like to see 10 karts built to the spec and CAMS log booked as a 125GB kart before it should be submitted to NSA/CAMS. The reason being that it will demostrate there are active memberships asking their governing body for it, demostrate that there is genuine investment and support in the concept. It will be backed up with the data that shows the growth it has created for this catergory in the USA, supported by almost every USA karting store, direct support by Honda USA, all of which this class has kept sprint and roadrace karting alive in USA.
The case to put forward to NSA needs to have the legs to stand firm at the AMRC so it can't be knocked back with a "blow in the wind" response, demonstrating that this is a missing link in CAMS Superkarting, "entry level gearbox" that will foster new members into the CAMS fold.
Time wise, I would like to see this submitted by September 2012 so that it can be ratified for the begining of the 2013 season. As they say Ian, numbers talk, bullshit walks and I feel it's important we have the numbers first.
So Ian,
Are you going to help promote and encourage it down SA way? Will you use your contacts to have the AMRC get behind it? Your support behind the concept it would certainly help the cause. The rules are matured (derived from USA), tested and functional.
Will IWT to get behind grass roots 'Gearbox Superkarting' like it did with the once popular 80cc Gearbox?

I would give the stock honda a go if there were a heavy class with a minimum weight of 200kgs ;D
Maybe Cookie and Jay would like to back me up on this one even BF24 could give it a go among others ;D
Having said that it was good fun and as easy to prep and race on the day as everyone says

Every single bit and piece required to assemble onto a rolling shifter kart chassis - less radiator ($210 with mount kit from Homebush karts)
Postage cost to my door was $430. Everything packed meticuously, very happy little customer here.
This could be you too......
I'll will be doing a full install / setup / tips reference booklet based off this package so any newbie can get it right up to scutineer's standards and running to its optimum tune to setup and do it themselves at home.

PS...on the weekend at Lakeside, we just lubed the chain after every race, topped up the fuel tank twice and lowered the tyre pressures twice on Tracey's kart. It was that easy!
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
Ive had a couple of guys approach me with questions on gearbox racing, they seem like good canidates for stock honda class, which will be good for SA, also a couple of us gearbox guys are trying to biuld one as a club kart,
So sam if you are able to call me so I can give them as much info as posible, as we have the cik round here on the week end and a couple of the guys run in the shifter class and want to catch up to me to talk stock honda for road race.
Anyway guys we are trying to grow the gearbox class down here, and your likes of brett, dean & co are doing a good job helping guys, we just got to try and get karts out of sheds or sold to new guys.
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
I'll give you a call tomorrow.
In the meantime, anybody intrested should be reading/download this.
Other than questions about road racing / CAMS / Superkart clubs, this should have everything they need to know about Stock Honda.
Have a read so you can arm yourself with any additional questions.

Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
I have not got anything other than my tools to piece this together.
I love how the bundled brackets make the whole package self contained to itself, just bolt the engine mount to chassis, connect the clutch and throttle cables, connect the fuel lines, hoses for water plus add the drive chain and it's ready to race.

Just a tip Sammy.
Hook up the gear selector as well, or else it won't go anywhere.
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
That is a sweet looking package ( i mean the engine ) can you answer me one question . The pulse pump line from the manifold to the pump looks quite long i thought it would have to be a lot closer to work more effectively just an observation. Obviosly if your other motor is the same it works a treat. ;D
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
The pulse pump setup above is my preference which will be document in my build reference booklet shortly.
To answer your question, my Stock Honda has been setup EXACTLY like this for 2 years now and never have I pulled the pump off to clean it out or do a single thing with it. The engine runs great everytime as everyone has seen.
I have also put exactly the same bracket/setup/position on Stewie's and Degan's Stock Honda for over 12months without a single issue.
Issues normally come with using a twin pump "pump around" system which is why it is not allowed in our rules. I leased a kart in USA and guess what, I had issues with the pump around system all weekend.....as do many other people....that's why it is not allowed in our rules.....too many problems and extra expense.
I'm not going to get into a fuel pump debate because it will never end. This setup above works 100% for the 3x Stock Honda's I've setup here at every track and is mounted completely out of the way.
If other people wish to mount it elsewhere using 1 metre or 1 inch of pulse line, mounting it above or below the carby they are welcome to do that, this is just my setup for all to see. I've heard all sorts of comprimises like longer line is larger crankcase volume, shorter line is lesser crankcase volume.......I don't think it makes jack on the CR125. ;) Maybe in Rotax Max with that tiny pump they use it could effect, but I don't know as I don't race or setup a Max.
FYI, you can purchase fuel pump mounts in USA that bolt to the side of the CR125 cylinder......this puts the pump in the way of your arm, that's my opinion.....especially for the big fellows in the sport.
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
Who gives a toss about the crap you post.
We are coming down and racing in the Superkart race at 180kgs.
I wanted to join in the KZ2 race however the current Stock Honda drivers (all others never been to Winton before) don't want to rub wheels with the F1 minded sprint kart drivers. That's their choice, accept that and move on.
As far as performance goes, let the lap times decide your petty crap there.
KZMAN, let me know if your racing at Winton, I'd like to pit next to you.
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
Sam won't run Stonda with KZ because he knows how hard they will get smoked. Even with 10kg break. This shows he has no interest in what's good for the sport over what is in HIS best interest. Otherwise he would embrace the concept, merge them and let the competitor decide.
buy this instead : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Swedetech-Pavesi-KZ2-engine-/320854227265?pt=AU_Go_Kart_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab466f941
Way faster, just as cheap and best of all, purpose built. Added bonuses over Stonda is too many to list but one thing for sure, you won't be left with a outdated piece of crap that you can't sell off.
SA, Victoria and NSW could run this class alone at select events with amount of numbers they have.
Now whether or not current KZ drivers even want Sam and his Stonda revolution involved is another question ?
Your not making me want to race KZ with attacks like that. Are the other guys complete baseless bone heads to..? Do they know your on here making comments like that..? See if you can get this through your increadibly thick head......We like KZ's and wish you guys would turn up long track racing more. Why don't you..? We like your equipment too, but we think there is a market for something like the stonda that allows a little less set up and maintanence. Nothing more nothing less. We never profess to be quicker. I'm probably not and don't care....get it..?
Also, no one here has a finacial interest so your comment on where Sam's interest lies is way off base. If you want to promote KZ class do so showing them off and not by attacking other classes.
You at this stage need to put up or shut up. You obviously feel threatened that we could steel numbers from you but honestly with your attitude you are more likely loosing them on your own. You are now actually working for us so thanks for that.

there is a lot of us coming to Winton/Allstars . From what I have read here concerning KZ the attitude is to run them with 125 superkart so far . Maybe that has something to do with it I don't know ? We are talking about running Mallala over here in future . I guess we will see how Allstars @ Winton goes now the class is on offer .

Kzman,
What happened in 2011, given your very own individual races last year and there is only 8 entered in qualifing and 6 in the final? I thought there is 40+ of you guys entered in KZ Allstars?

What happens to your current KZ2 engine when the CIK homologate the next version of KZ2 engines?
What is the new price of a KZ2 vs Stock Honda engine?
What is the used price of KZ2 vs Stock Honda engine?
The questions above truthfully answers your question on cost then something you can't sell later......check the US market if your not sure... ;)
As we have mentioned many times before, KZ2 are welcome to race with 125 Gearbox Superkart ANYTIME with open arms, if you can show you have the consistant numbers and loyality to CAMS (best way is by CAMS logbooks and licenses) I'm sure they can consider an application to your own class in Superkarting. ;)
Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
You are entitled to your own opinion equally as everyone on this forum but you need to stop the slagging match with Sam, obviously your problem with him is personal, take it up with him directly rather than shooting your mouth off behind a computer whilst not identifying who you are ...

Stock Honda may not be for everyone, same deal for the other class's ...

Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon
and its nice that sammy thought he had a choice
Careful Evan, you don't have the facts!!!!!!!
Matt Wall approached me via Facebook to get our Stock Honda's running in their KZ2 race. His idea was;
KZ2 @ 180kg
DD2 @ 175kg
SHonda @ 170kg
I thought it was a good idea too and took it back to the SHonda drivers coming to Winton. The drivers all agreed (except me) that since they have never been to Winton before would not like to run with Sprint Kart drivers on their first visit.
During the same time consulting the SHonda drivers in what they want to do, there were a few emails with VSKC, (Rolf/Rod and whoever) that gave me the option to run in either KZ2 race or Superkart race but only at 180kgs due to possible confusion at scales with different karts etc.
So yes Evan.....WE DID HAVE A CHOICE!
We also have a choice of staying home as well.
The rest is history, why is there a soap opera about it. This is how karters are their own worst enemy, don't we all just want to go racing for fun, or is there also mega $$$ to win here?
If karters like politics and soap operas, go f***king join federal Labor.

Re: Another Stock Honda Coming Soon

Evan,
The facts are EXACTLY as I said on this forum. Let's keep that clear for all to understand.
I am trying to assist the sport with a low cost, user friendly, fair competition option in Superkart gearbox racing.
I'm putting my hand in my pocket to help Superkarting, no money comes back in my pocket if it succeds or not.
How many people are currently doing that in our little world of Australian Superkarting today?
To make a comment like "and its nice that sammy thought he had a choice" is undermining my intergrity that we didn't have a choice to pick which race we wish to run in.
We can all sit at home and keep our pennies in our pockets, we race for fun and I expect the support from others where possible to ensure we are all embracing our sport.

Well since this afternoon all the evidence has been shown to me to prove 100% you didn't have any of the facts which would make me say your time could be much better spent looking after potential new members to the sport than making people think the Vskc is run by arrogant flogs, you can be guranteed I will not renew my membership of which I had full intention to do so I could run my kart at Calder as I need to run the motor in before the Winton round which I will now not be doing either
Thanks Ev for reminding me why I planned to get out of superkarting, and for everyone else my kart is still for sale
