The Victorian Superkart Club wishes all compeditors all the best and safe travels to Phillip Island for Round two. Good luck and may VICTORIA bring home the bacon. ;D
Thanks to all the competitors at PI you were all a pleasure to work with, no bitching or fighting and a real friendly atmosphere, back to the good old days. Everyone was only to pleased to help each other. A special thanks has to go to Pam and Barb for the hard work that they put in keeping everyone informed and ready to go and sorting out any of the problems. Congratulations to all the Champions the racing was great to watch from the tower, some of the finishes were to close to call especially in the 250 National class. Roll on next year, lets see if we can make it bigger and better.
Hey Rolf, not much bacon down your way I hear. I have to say, its the first race meeting I have enjoyed at Phillip Island for years. Pam, Barb, John Mason did great on the weekend and I am sure everybody wants to thank them for their efforts. 2014 will be harder than this year but Queensland is going to do its best to take home 2 out of the 3 Championships on offer. I guess it could be 4 if the Stock Hondas want to have an Australian Champion. Well organised dinner, thanks Pam. The 4 Hall of Fame awards were very well deserved. Personally I always like the races Les May was competing in through the 80s and 90s. Made for some great footage from the F1 GP and Indycar days. I seen him 1 day at Lakeside, early 90's I think, still remember very well. Great to watch. It was worthy to note that Gary was the only Hall Of Famer that didnt have grey hair and very worthy of the award. Warren is a champion on and off the track. Dont know a lot about Mick Bakker but I have heard his name for many years. Yes, we need more pink Superkarts. There was a good vibe at the race meeting. Quite positive. The whole race meeting went well. We also took some "P" platers down for their first look in preperation for the 2014 Australian Superkart Championship. They enjoyed themselves and they will doing their best to bring the trophies to there proper home, Queensland. Bring on the 2014 Australian Superkart Championship. Will anyone be able to break that record that Jamo put down? WOW, that was something else.
Congratulations to Russell, Dalton and Jeff on their 2013 Championship wins – It was great racing to watch. :) I, especially thank Russell for the sound of that DEA at full noise at the end of the main straight as you went flat out into to turn 1 – it was beautiful music to the ear. :D
Commiseration to Gary, Dale and Tony as you guys kept the pressure on and made the racing very interesting. I really felt for you Gary as you rolled passed my back straight viewing point with just the noise from your tyres on the black stuff :'( – you gave it a big effort and it was great to watch. :)
That was awesome racing to see, the live coverage was great and as usual Mark Jones kept everyone up to date via social media and some great photos and commentary. The 125 racing was awesome and the Nationals were just brilliant with Dalton a very deserving winner, what class in the wet until the chain broke. The twins were brilliant, In any other meeting Garry and Warrens times would have set the record, but those 1.28 times were crazy. Also was that a bit of a changing of the guard on the weekend, Matt Bass, Russ, Dalton, all very young and very fast.
Thanks for all the kind words. Defiantly a lot of effort and determination went in to it. Looking forward to next year already.

New unofficial lap record at Phillip Island:
Russell Jamieson (QLD) Anderson/Maverick 220 Inter 1:28.4199.
I say unofficial only cause the meetings not over yet and official results have not been posted.
Before you all have a crack. ;D
