I cannot find any rules regarding the location for mounting a Dorian Timer on a Superkart - Do any exist?
In SA, the finishing position in a race is judged by an official line of sight - is this the same in other states or is the Dorian timing used?
Regards
Allan.

Re: Dorian Timer Mounting Location
this is out of the CAMS book.
"11. GENERAL
(i) The construction of the vehicle shall be such as to satisfy the scrutineers as to its soundness and safety.
(ii) Timing transmitters when fitted shall be located with the whole of the unit and mounting behind the front
axle centreline straight ahead position".
Re: Dorian Timer Mounting Location
Judgement of finishing is determined by your sporting reg's and or supp reg's.
Re: Dorian Timer Mounting Location
What is the method used in QLD for finishing position - Dorian or an Officials line of sight on the finishing line?
How about VIctoria Rolf?
Re: Dorian Timer Mounting Location
at our meetings up here, the timing people still do it manually as well so they are the "Judge of Fact" for finishing positions. This is needed just in case the computer system fails and I would think it would be done the same everywhere.
Re: Dorian Timer Mounting Location
Dorian.
But we do manually lap score. Often our lapscorers are not in direct line with the line.
Re: Dorian Timer Mounting Location
I appreciate your reply.
Makes sense to have that Dorian as close to the front axle centre line as possible in Victoria ;)
Does anyone know what happens in NSW - Dorina or Judge of Fact?

Allan.

Just go and win good and proper on the track so you don't have to worry about 100mm or whatever it is from the 'ideal' safe mounting spot to a 'pain in the arse' spot where you will end up losing your transponder. ;)
I didn't know we were racing in the World Cup where 1/1000th across the line for the major prize money is a matter of do or die. :D
This rule was introduced because a certain 100ccNGB kart years ago had it mounted in the tip of their nose cone. (not me)

In two races recently at PI in stock honda, I beat a circus clowns son by 0.02 and i actually think it was closer. The placing of the timer could have decided a race series (other than a certain wog being 15 seconds in front of course).
Stock Honda like others is to be no further forward than the front axle line.
Plenty of offence intended.....

I gave you option on Saturday if you would like me to make a good race of it, your response was a laugh so I mounted my transponder 15 secs ahead of yours. :D
Anyway this weekend I not contest Stock Honda, hopefully you can beat angry midget circus clown jr by 0.02 again.
