Hi Guys, just thought I'd ask out there what other Victorians are going to do about Kart and Equipment transport to QLD. The thought of driving all that way makes me want to slit my wrists!!
Also does anyone know what pit gear we need to take like EZY Ups/flooring and generators etc?
Cheers

Re: RD 2 Shannons SK Championship
The facts are, that the whole superkarting start and saftey car restarts were brought under close scrutinee by the race stewards after a protest lodged by Sam Zavagilia in race 2 Sunday morning on another 125cc competitor.

Get your facts straight if your going to point the finger and name people Craig.
Your son tried passing me 2-3 times under Yellows during the race and each time I waved at him to prevent him from getting disqualified. He then passed me before the start/finish on the safety car restart which again is an offense to the rules.
I didn't lodge a protest, (a protest costs $500 or $1000 at nationals), I simply went to the steward and asked for the matter to be looked at. If your son obeyed the flag rules, you would not have anything to worry about.
I also know that you/Tim tried to counter act your penalty by saying I was too far back in the queue, well "tough titties" mate, they have the video footage and if I did something wrong I would have been penalised too, WHICH I WASN'T.
I did not raise anything about distance, you guys did, so if you want to lay blame about the officials watching in regards to distance, YOU GUYS are responsible for Gary's penalty.
If you have an issue with this, you could have been a man and approached me at the track instead of hiding behind a keyboard.
An apology right about now wouldn't go astray. If you can't do that just proves the fact you guys are sore losers and trying to defame me.
Next time, maybe have your 125GP engine in front of my piss ant Stock Honda to avoid your son making mistakes.
Get a life!

Re: RD 2 Shannons SK Championship
The symantics of whether you put money up or not is I suppose is not the point, you fronted the stewards, to raise the issue , not us.
If this was such an issue and concern for you, then why did you not approach us directly and talk to us before making your way to the Stewards room. We could have discussed it in the pits... rather than with the stewards... That was your choose.. not ours.
With reference to the restart distance after the saftey car re-start in that race, your obvious tactical experience in superkart racing shone though. I will explain that to other 125cc gb guys backed up behind you as well.
No one for a minute doubts your driving ability or the performace our your equipment, and from the records i saw, the fastest lap was set by Reddy 1.17.2 , next fasted was Tim 1.17.3 , you were in the low 1.19 , and that time is amazingly quick give the horsepower differnce of those engines..
Sam, I do have a life thanks, and yes we learnt a lot from that meeting about what it means to compete... I just hope this may serve a lesson to us all about the outcomes of our actions.
Re: RD 2 Shannons SK Championship
My GoPro onboard video from Final Race 12laps.
My start was crap and that made life hard for myself to catch back up.
Had a great time, learnt alot and there's always someone there to race hard with throughout the field.

Who is no 11 at around 11 minutes and why is he going so slow with his arm up?
Re: RD 2 Shannons SK Championship
Scott, I was there with Clint Brown and my son to give a statement to the Cheif Steward. After Sam's protest we were issue a 27 sec penalty. One could say, well "that's just motor racing" . and get on with... and thats what you have to do... But I can assure you, the stewards were not pleased at having to deal with it. Talk to Sam about.. I am sure he will give you his version.... Talk to Clint Brown, who is our Catagory manager, he did a great job at trying to explain to the stewards the situation.... but make no mistake that was real and have the infrigment notice to provie it..
And yes you are right, every race meeting there is a number of things happen that the Stewards seem to miss or we are agrieved about, Passing under yellow's, no blue flags, etc, etc , but do will storm up to the stewards office and protest them all. !!
Gary P was the one that got shafted.. he probably lost this championship, we just lost 4 grid positions...
As you just found out, Sam didn't lodge a protest. Chinese whispers and presumptions can be dangerous. I was next to Sam when Clint gave him the peice of paper after it all and he said that he didn't want to protest just bring it to there attention.
And try "probably loosing a Championship" from no fault of your own, by that I mean not by your own right foot rather someone elses left foot!
Re: RD 2 Shannons SK Championship
Obviously you guys don't know or respect the basic CAMS flag rules and penalty's involved at Australian Championship level that keep ALL competitors safe on the track. It is double important to respect these when we have different classes mixed in with great speed differences.
The facts are that Saturday afternoon there were many passing under yellows and the officials were already onto us, Clint knew about it but failed to address it to the Superkart group.
I spent a total of 40 sec in the tower simply requesting the infringement to be looked in their own time, that's it. Next thing you know your charged for the breach in the rules. Do the crime, serve the time.
If your upset over your weekend, you should be pointing your finger toward your mate in #20 instead of the hype you typed above. I think #20 hit everything but the track with his super doper braking abilities over the weekend, the reason why your son had to avoid him parked in the middle of the corner which landed Tim buried in the gravel and possibly swallowed rock in his engine.
Furthermore Craig, I noticed you just joined the forum, welcome to the forum to simply name and blame me over your/Tim mistakes. What is the saying, whenever you point your finger, there is always 2 pointing back at you.

He spun, restarted himself, then the safty car came out on that lap.

Okay, thanks. So that allows you to make up 1 place in the field before the control line on the restart? What about the other 4 or 5 that made up places as well. Did they also have the same problems?
No wonder Superkarting is getting a worse name in motorsport.

The timing guys at QLD Raceway left a lot to be desired.
What about the kart in Race 1 that pulled in the escape road out of T3 and waited there, then proceeded out toward T6 to take the chequred flag. Did not complete that full lap and should have been DQ, but was counted which affected the poduim results.
After the Race 2 infridgements is when I decided to visit the tower for investigation.

Don't blame those for doing the right thing, blame those for doing the wrong thing.
